明けましておめでとうございます。

長女治美が結婚しました。洋一は還暦を迎え、また引き続き情報基盤センター長として、4月から始まる国立大学法人化直前の忙しい毎日を送っております。澄子は友の会、水泳、洋一と山、ウォーキングと多彩に楽しんでおります。

Merry Christmas and

A Happy New Year

Our daughter, Harumi, was married with Katsuhiko ODAKA last April, and they are happily living in the vicinity of Yokohama 20km southwest of Tokyo.

Yoichi is still a director of Information Technology Center, the university computer center. As written in the greetings last year, all national universities would be changed to agencies next April, and are more independent from the government. However, the governmental financial support will be gradually decreased year after year, and it bothers him how to manage the center under such a condition.

Yoichi and Sumiko were still enjoying walking and mountain hiking. Among 100 famous mountains in Japan, 5 are left for Yoichi and 40 were conquered by Sumiko. This year, we visited Canada for aurora observation as in the picture, Istanbul and Cappadocia in Turkey, Sorrento nearby Napoli in Italy, and Taipei in Taiwan.

All of us are healthy and active for everything. We also wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
