明けましておめでとうございます。

洋一は引き続き情報基盤センター長ですが、この3月で定年を迎えます。洋一はキリマンジャロと百名山完了、澄子は皇海山、光岳、水晶岳、鷲羽岳、鳥海山、月山、蔵王山と55/100 を達成しました。

Merry Christmas and

A Happy New Year

Yoichi is heading into retirement from the University of Tokyo at the age of 62 on 31st, March, 2006, after 34 year service. During the period, he worked 1 year as a lecturer, 17 years as an associate professor, 9 years as a tenure professor and 7 years as directors of RCAST (Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology) and ITC (Information Technology Center).

He climbed up Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak (5895m) in Africa last July, and also completed A Hundred Famous Mountains in Japan last August.

Sumiko also completed 55 mountains among 100. Her mother’s disease had gone better, and Sumiko again had lots of travels with Yoichi, such as Wienna, Taipei, Gyeongju in Korea. She also traveled with her mother visiting Aichi EXPO, Okinawa, southmost island of Japan, etc.

All of us are healthy and active for everything. We also wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
